Ghaziabad, July 22, 2024 – As the auspicious month of Sawan begins, the Transport Corporation has announced special bus services to Haridwar for Shiva devotees. Starting on Monday, 50 buses will be deployed on the Haridwar route, with the potential to increase the number based on passenger demand. This initiative aims to facilitate the large number of devotees traveling to the holy city of Haridwar.
Kanwar Yatra 2024 Haridwar Route
- For Kanwar Yatra 50 buses to be deployed on the Haridwar route for Shiva devotees.
- A total of 320 buses reserved across eight depots in the Ghaziabad region.
- Additional 200 buses from city depots and 120 from surrounding areas like Khurja, Bulandshahr, Secunderabad, and Hapur.
Assistant Regional Manager Shivbalak stated that the initial passenger count at Kaushambi Bus Stand is normal, but a surge is expected starting Sunday night. Consequently, 50 buses have been allocated in the first phase from depots in Kaushambi, Loni, Sahibabad, and Ghaziabad. Depending on demand, more buses will be added or removed.

According to Shivbalak, the adjustment in fares reflects the increased travel distances due to route diversions. The primary aim is to ensure a smooth journey for all passengers amidst the expected surge.
Among the thousands of devotees making their way to Haridwar is Rajesh Kumar, a 45-year-old resident of Ghaziabad. “I’ve been visiting Haridwar every Sawan for the past 20 years. The additional buses this year will make the journey much easier for all of us,” he said.
