Call of Duty League 2024 is the second season of the professional esports league for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, featuring 12 teams from North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. The league is organized by Activision and sponsored by Intel, Mountain Dew, PlayStation, Scuf Gaming, and Astro Gaming.

The league consists of five stages, each with a four-week qualifier and a four-day major tournament. The qualifier matches determine the seeding and placement of the teams in the major tournament, where they compete for a share of the $1,000,000 USD prize pool and the coveted CDL points, which are used to rank the teams and qualify them for the season finale, the Call of Duty League Championship 2024.

The second stage of the league, Major 2, is currently underway, with the qualifier matches starting on February 25, 2024, and ending on March 17, 2024. The major tournament will take place from March 21 to March 24, 2024, in Miami, Florida, hosted by the Miami Heretics, one of the new teams that joined the league this season.

The Teams

The 12 teams that are participating in the Call of Duty League 2024 Major 2 are:

  • Atlanta FaZe: The reigning champions of the first stage, Major 1, and the current leaders of the CDL standings. The team consists of Simp, aBeZy, Cellium, and Arcitys, four of the best players in the world, who have shown incredible synergy and dominance in the game.
  • Toronto Ultra: The runners-up of the first stage, Major 1, and the second-placed team in the CDL standings. The team consists of Cammy, CleanX, Bance, and Insight, a mix of veterans and newcomers, who have impressed everyone with their consistency and clutch factor.
  • OpTic Texas: The third-placed team in the first stage, Major 1, and the third-placed team in the CDL standings. The team consists of Scump, FormaL, Dashy, and Envoy, four of the most popular and talented players in the scene, who have a huge fan base and a lot of expectations.
  • New York Subliners: The fourth-placed team in the first stage, Major 1, and the fourth-placed team in the CDL standings. The team consists of Clayster, Asim, Mack, and HyDra, a balanced and versatile squad, who have overcome some roster changes and visa issues to perform well in the league.
  • Los Angeles Thieves: The fifth-placed team in the first stage, Major 1, and the fifth-placed team in the CDL standings. The team consists of SlasheR, Kenny, TJHaLy, and Drazah, a combination of experienced and young players, who have a lot of potential and firepower.
  • Las Vegas Legion: The sixth-placed team in the first stage, Major 1, and the sixth-placed team in the CDL standings. The team consists of Skrapz, Zed, Alexx, and Dylan, a team of British players, who have shown great improvement and teamwork in the league.
  • Boston Breach: The seventh-placed team in the first stage, Major 1, and the seventh-placed team in the CDL standings. The team consists of Octane, Gunless, Prestinni, and Loony, a team of star players, who have struggled to find their groove and chemistry in the league.
  • Carolina Royal Ravens: The eighth-placed team in the first stage, Major 1, and the eighth-placed team in the CDL standings. The team consists of Seany, Zer0, PaulEhx, and Zaptius, a team of mixed nationalities, who have faced some roster issues and communication problems in the league.
  • Los Angeles Guerrillas: The ninth-placed team in the first stage, Major 1, and the ninth-placed team in the CDL standings. The team consists of Vivid, Silly, Assault, and Apathy, a team of veteran players, who have failed to live up to their expectations and experience in the league.
  • Seattle Surge: The tenth-placed team in the first stage, Major 1, and the tenth-placed team in the CDL standings. The team consists of Octane, Gunless, Prestinni, and Loony, a team of star players, who have struggled to find their groove and chemistry in the league.
  • Minnesota ROKKR: The eleventh-placed team in the first stage, Major 1, and the eleventh-placed team in the CDL standings. The team consists of Attach, Priestahh, MajorManiak, and Standy, a team of talented and aggressive players, who have shown some flashes of brilliance but also some inconsistency and frustration in the league.
  • Miami Heretics: The twelfth-placed team in the first stage, Major 1, and the twelfth-placed team in the CDL standings. The team consists of Lucky, MethodZ, JurNii, and Sukry, a team of Spanish players, who have joined the league this season as the first team from the APAC region, but have faced some difficulties and challenges in adapting to the competition and the environment.

The Qualifiers

The qualifier matches for the Major 2 are played in a round-robin format, with each team playing seven matches against the other teams in the league. The matches are best-of-five series, with the following game modes and maps:

  • Hardpoint: Invasion, Karachi, Rio, Skidrow, Sub Base
  • Search & Destroy: Highrise, Invasion, Karachi, Rio, Terminal
  • Control: Highrise, Invasion, Karachi

The results of the qualifier matches determine the seeding and placement of the teams in the major tournament. The top eight teams advance to the winners bracket, while the bottom four teams start in the losers bracket. The teams also earn CDL points based on their performance in the qualifier matches, with 10 points for each win and 0 points for each loss.

The Major Tournament

The major tournament for the Major 2 will take place from March 21 to March 24, 2024, in Miami, Florida, hosted by the Miami Heretics. The tournament will feature a double-elimination format, with best-of-five series, except for the grand finals, which will be a best-of-seven series. Other Important Information

  • The tournament is part of the Call of Duty League, a circuit of tournaments that lead up to the Call of Duty League Championship 2024, the biggest and most prestigious event in Call of Duty esports.
