June 22, 2024, Bihar: The Bihar School Examination 2024 has postponed the Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) exam which was scheduled for June 26 to 28  due to “unavoidable causes”. 

According to the official notice, the new date for the Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test will be announced within the upcoming two days. 

According to the official notification which was published in Hindi, the board stated,  “In the context of rule-4 of Bihar School Special Teacher Rules, 2023, in the sequence of release no – PR 238/2024, the teacher candidates appearing in the Competency Test, 2024 (second) of teachers of local body, all district education officers, all district program officers (establishment) and all concerned are informed that the Competency Test, 2024 (second) to be held in both the shifts from 26.06.2024 to 28.06.2024 is postponed due to unavoidable reasons. The date of conducting Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test will be published later.”

The application form for the competency test for local body teachers was available from April 26 to May 4, 2024. Meanwhile, the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has issued the exam admit card for head teacher and head master positions on its official website.

Earlier, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the cancellation of the UGC-NET exam after it was discovered that the question paper had been leaked online. “The Joint CSIR-UGC-NET Examination June-2024 which was scheduled to be held between June 25 and June 27 was postponed due to unavoidable circumstances as well as logistic issues. The revised schedule for the conduct of this examination will be announced later through the official website,” National Testing Agency (NTA) had mentioned in an official notice. 

The UGC-NET exam was held by the Ministry of Education on Wednesday, and it was cancelled the following day.
