LUCKNOW, July 24, 2024 – The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the launch of a new Bachelor of Visual Arts (BVA) course aimed at connecting the youth with visual arts. This 4-year course, starting in the academic session 2024-25, seeks to enhance the artistic skills of young individuals, aligning with the National Education Policy 2020.
BVA (Bachelor of Visual Arts) Admission: 4 Years Course Launched by UP Govt.

UP Government Collaborates with Cultural Institutions for Visual Arts Education
The UP State Lalit Kala Academy, under the Culture Department of the UP government, has collaborated with Bhatkhande Cultural University to introduce a regular 4-year Bachelor of Visual Arts (BVA) course admission in Painting. This initiative is part of the state’s efforts to provide skill development opportunities in various industrial sectors, including the arts.
Bachelor of Visual Arts (BVA) Course: Application Process
The application process for this course is online and accessible through the Samarth portal of Bhatkhande Sanskrit University. Interested candidates must apply by August 15, 2024. There are 20 seats available for this course, and the selection process includes an entrance examination and an interview.
BVA Course Admission: Eligibility & Fees
- Eligibility: Candidates must have passed the Intermediate examination from any recognized Intermediate College.
- Application Fee: Rs 500 for General and OBC candidates, and Rs 300 for SC, ST, EWS, and Women candidates.
- Course Fees: Rs 6000 per semester with an additional examination fee of Rs 800.
BVA Course Techniques
The BVA course will cover various techniques and styles, including Lucknow’s famous wash technique, which has its roots in the Bengal School of Arts. The curriculum will also encompass folk painting styles and cultural activities to ensure the all-round development of students.
