Activision, the publisher of the popular gaming franchise Call of Duty, has already announced that their upcoming COD instalment will be Black Ops 6 due this year. Now, based on reliable insider information, the official release date of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been leaked, along with other important details as well.
Black Ops 6, which is this year’s premium Call of Duty title, has been developed by Treyarch Studios, co-developers of the Black Ops Cold War edition released back in 2020. Although no official release date for the COD Black Ops 6 has been announced yet, multiple Call of Duty news accounts have revealed that the much-awaited video game will be released on October 25, 2024.
Earlier, Xbox had announced that Black Ops 6 would be officially revealed on June 9, with a full reveal program dedicated to the upcoming COD instalment. According to a Wall Street Journal report, Microsoft will release “the coming instalment of Call of Duty to its subscription service instead of the longtime, lucrative approach of only selling it a la carte.”
The upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct will showcase the first official gameplay, which will be livestreamed on Xbox’s official YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch channel on June 9. A reliable insider has also claimed that COD Black Ops 6 will feature “Omnidirectional Movement” similar to what’s seen in the Max Payne game series. According to the insider, “Omnidirectional Movement” means that players will be able to move and dive in all directions, akin to the Max Payne gaming series.
Microsoft had earlier announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one. It is also the first COD title to be available on Game Pass on launch day, made possible by the multi-billion dollar acquisition of publisher Activision Blizzard by Microsoft last year. However, it is advisable to take all the information surrounding the leaks and rumours with a pinch of salt until there’s an official confirmation made by developers.
