Xbox Series X|S players can finally join the adventure in Final Fantasy XIV, the acclaimed MMORPG from Square Enix. The game will launch on March 21, after a beta period that is still open for testing. A new trailer was revealed on a Xbox Partner Presents stream, which also hinted at some exclusive benefits for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

If you have Game Pass Ultimate, you can get the Starter Edition of Final Fantasy XIV for free from March 21 to April 19. This edition includes the main game and the first two expansions, Heavensward and Stormblood. You can explore the vast world of Eorzea and enjoy a rich story with memorable characters.

Final Fantasy XIV has been a remarkable comeback story for Square Enix in the past decade. The game debuted in 2010, but it was widely criticized for its flaws and shortcomings. Square Enix decided to overhaul the game completely, and relaunched it in 2013 as A Realm Reborn. This new version of the game was met with praise and appreciation, and it has attracted a loyal fanbase on PC and PlayStation platforms ever since. Besides Heavensward and Stormblood, FFXIV has also received two more expansions, Shadowbringers and Endwalker.

However, Xbox players have been missing out on this epic saga for a long time. Square Enix blamed this on business issues in 2015, and later on the platform-holders’ policies on cross-play in 2019. Xbox chief Phil Spencer assured fans that the game was coming to Xbox One later that year, but it took almost five years to make it happen. Now, Xbox Series X|S players can finally enjoy the game on their consoles.

The game will also get another expansion, Dawntrail, this summer. This expansion will take you to a sunny island, where you’ll assist in a ceremony to select the next leader of Tural. It will also add a level cap raise, new jobs, gear, recipes, and of course, dungeons. A 7.0 patch will also improve the graphics for all players.
