ROORKEE, August 18, 2024 – The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has officially launched the GATE 2025 information brochure, detailing the exam’s structure, application process, and key dates. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) will be held on 1, 2, 15, and 16, February 2025, featuring 30 test papers designed to assess the depth and breadth of candidates’ engineering knowledge. Applications open on 24 August, 2024, with the regular deadline set for September 26 and a final late submission deadline on 7 October, 2024.

How to Apply for GATE 2025

Candidates must register online through the official website (gate2025.iitr.ac.in) starting from 24 August, 2024. The application process is straightforward and involves the following steps:

  1. Visit the official GATE 2025 website and navigate to the registration link.
  2. Fill in personal and academic details as required.
  3. Upload necessary documents, including a high-quality photograph, ID proof (preferably Aadhaar-UID), and relevant category certificates.
  4. Pay the application fee of INR 1,800 for general category and international candidates, or INR 900 for female, SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
  5. Submit the application and ensure you save a copy of the confirmation page for future reference.

GATE 2025: Important Details & Exam Pattern

The GATE 2025 exam is scheduled to take place on 1, 2, 15, and 16 February , 2025, across various test centers. The exam will be conducted in an objective format, with all questions available in English. The test papers will include:

  • Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs): Where only one of four options is correct.
  • Multiple Select Questions (MSQs): Which may have one or more correct answers.
  • Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions: Requiring candidates to input answers using a virtual keypad.

Candidates can choose up to two test papers from a list of 30, with only one application form required, even when selecting two papers. This year’s format emphasizes flexibility, allowing candidates to showcase their interdisciplinary knowledge.

Admit Card and Exam Day Guidelines

Admit cards will be available for download from 2 January, 2025, exclusively on the GATE 2025 website. On the day of the exam, candidates must bring both their original ID proof and the admit card. It is important to note that printed copies of the admit card will not be sent by mail.
