IIT Delhi Launches 6 Months Certificate Programme in Hybrid Electric Vehicle

IIT Delhi is targeting this programme at engineering graduates (mechanical, electrical, automotive, and related fields) and diploma holders from recognized universities. This includes both Indian institutions (UGC/AICTE/DEC/AIU/State Government) and international universities.

The six-month certificate programme covers key concepts essential for understanding and innovating in the HEV sector. Topics include thermodynamics, internal combustion engines (IC engines), electric machines and drives, power electronics, automotive hybridization, and battery design and modeling.

The HEV programme will be conducted through live online sessions designed and delivered by IIT Delhi faculty. There is an optional one-day immersion at the IIT Delhi campus towards the end of the course.

The course begins on September 29, 2024.

As the automotive industry shifts towards sustainable and efficient solutions, there is a critical need for engineers skilled in hybrid and electric vehicle technologies. This programme aims to equip professionals transitioning from traditional internal combustion engine technology to EVs and HEVs with advanced knowledge and practical skills.

The curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with practical insights aligned with the FAME scheme (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles). Participants will engage in industry-oriented sessions, complete a Capstone project, and have opportunities for networking within the automotive industry.
