IIT Kanpur to Host Major Open Source Conference from August 24-26

KANPUR, July 13, 2024 – The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur ) is pleased to announce the upcoming Opportunity Open Source Conference 2024 scheduled to take place from August 24-26. This collaborative event will be supported by industry giants including the Linux Foundation, OpenPrinting, Canonical, and Zephyr. Developers, contributors, and open-source enthusiasts are encouraged to submit their proposals for talks, workshops, and panels by the deadline on July 20.

The conference is designed to foster innovation, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing within the open-source ecosystem. Building on the success of last year’s event at IIT Mandi, which resulted in the selection of 11 Google Summer of Code (GSoC) contributors, this year’s conference promises to be even more impactful. Leading the conference are Till Kamppeter from OpenPrinting and Aveek Basu from the Linux Foundation’s GSoC program.
