KHARAGPUR, July 14, 2024 – The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT K) has launched new scholarship programs for its undergraduate and postgraduate students. These IIT Kharagpur Scholarship, funded by the institute, aim to support students with both academic merit and financial need.

IIT Kharagpur Scholarship are available for students in the four-year BTech(Hons), five-year dual degree, five-year BArch(Hons), five-year integrated MSc courses, and four-year BS programs. Up to 25% of students admitted each year to these courses can receive the merit-cum-means (MCM) scholarships, which cover full tuition fees for a year, from July to June, if they meet certain criteria.

These new scholarships align with the National Educational Policy (NEP 2020) and will start with the academic year 2024-25. These changes, announced on April 1, aim to make education more accessible and affordable.

  3. Merit Criteria: To renew the scholarship, students need a minimum GPA of 7.00. New students need at least 60% marks in their qualifying exams for JEE Advanced.
  4. Additional Conditions:
    • Students can only hold one scholarship at a time.
    • Awards and renewals depend on the student’s merit and financial need, with no pending disciplinary actions.
    • The scholarship only covers tuition fees; other fees must be paid by the students.
