Kevin Jonas, singer-songwriter and member of the pop band Jonas Brothers, has revealed that he has skin cancer. The singer took to social media to inform that he recently underwent surgery to treat skin cancer.
He recently visited a hospital to get a mole near his hairline checked, which later, to everyone’s surprise, turned out to be skin cancer. He then shared a video of himself from the hospital, where he is seen lying down holding the camera above his face. “Today I am getting a basal-cell carcinoma removed from my head. Yes, that is an actual little skin cancer guy that started to grow, and now I have to get surgery to remove it”, said Kevin in the video.
For those who are unaware, Basal cell carcinoma is a form of skin cancer that originates in the basal cells. These cells, found within the skin, are responsible for producing new skin cells as the old ones die off. This cancer typically appears as a white, waxy lump or a brown, scaly patch on sun-exposed areas, such as the face and neck. Basal cell carcinoma often appears as a slightly transparent bump on the skin, though it can take other forms as well.
The ‘Only Human’ singer later shared a clip from his car while he was heading home after the surgery, with a band-aid on his forehead covering the surgery scar. “Friendly reminder to get your moles checked,” Kevin reminded his fans to take care of their health and get their moles checked.
Naturally, his fans were tensed at first when Kevin broke the news about his predicament, but later were relieved after knowing about the successful surgery. One Instagram user wrote, “You just scared us a bunch!!! Happy to know you’re recovering. I love you so much and wish you a lot of health!”. Another user commented, “Thank God it was detected early 🙏🏽 You got me shaking! Get well soon, lovey, praying for you 💗”
Kevin Jonas has two daughters, Alena Rose and Valentina Angelina, with Danielle Jonas. Meanwhile, the Jonas Brothers are currently taking a break from touring. Their last performance was on April 30 in Cancun, Mexico.
