The Bihar government has told the Centre that its investigation shows a possible paper leak in the NEET-UG exam. The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) reportedly found 68 out of an estimated 200 questions from the pretended photocopy of the question paper to match the original one shared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) with the EOU five days earlier.
NEET Paper Leak
According to the reports received by the Education Ministry from the EOU states that the unique code of the exam center seized by Bihar police from the scraps of the burnt paper from the arrested candidate’s house is of Oasis School, a private school affiliated with CBSE that was one of the NTA’s center in Hazarigarh, Jharkhand. The Forensic department is helping the EOU with the matching of burnt scraps with that of original paper and its questions.
CBI in the investigation
Based on the EOU reports handed by the Education Minister to the CBI in the investigation of the matter on NEET Paper Leak. The EOU takes the total number of arrested candidates associated with the paper leak to 18 by arresting 5 more suspects on Sunday.
Bihar government also claims that, the serial numbers of all 68 questions in the burnt scraps and the original paper are similar.
On being reached out to, Ehsanhul Haque, the head of Oasis School. Haque said: “As soon as the packet reached the school, multiple people, including invigilators got involved. The packet with the paper was then opened in front of the students.”
Currently, The EOU of Bihar is working on identifying the time and place of the paper leak. To determine the paper leak, NTA has shared the reports of the distribution of question papers with EOU to help them trace the journey of papers from NTA’s custody to the Oasis School.
