July 7, 2024, Noida, India: The Noida Authority’s effort to implement a new parking fee system has encountered a major obstacle. On Friday, July 5, 2024, it was revealed that no bids were submitted for the Noida Authority parking tender. As a result, parking will remain free at about a dozen locations until a new system is established. The Authority had issued tenders for three clusters last month, intending to start collecting parking fees from August 2024.
Noida Authority Parking Information:
The Noida Authority parking tender was issued for the following clusters:
- Cluster Number-4: Sector-81, Phase Two, Sector-83, 88
- Cluster Number-7: Hosiery Complex
- Cluster Number-6: Plot No. B-46 of Sector-80
Despite the last day for applications being Tuesday, July 2, 2024, no agency submitted a bid for any cluster when tenders were opened on Friday, July 5.
Tender Process: The tender process aimed to implement a new parking fee system to address existing issues with parking fee collection. Currently, three parking operators owe approximately Rs 20 crore in dues to the Authority as of November 2023.
Noida Authority Parking Development:
- Proposed parking fees:
- Four-wheelers: Rs 20 for the first two hours, Rs 10 per hour thereafter.

- A monthly pass option was also planned.

The immediate impact is the continuation of free parking at the affected locations until a new tender process is completed. This delay could lead to a loss of potential revenue and cause confusion regarding parking regulations.
