NEW DELHI, July 22, 2024 – Twelve students from Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology – Deemed to be University (KIIT-DU) have qualified for the Paris Olympics 2024, which begins on July 26. KIIT and KISS founder, Achyuta Samanta, announced a cash reward of Rs 7 lakh for each athlete to honor their remarkable achievements.

Historic Milestone for KIIT and KISS
Samanta highlighted the illustrious history of KIIT and KISS in producing top-tier athletes. The institutions have nurtured 20 Olympians and 2 Paralympians who represented India in the 2016 Rio Olympics, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and now the 2024 Paris Olympics. Additionally, KIIT & KISS proudly count seven Arjuna Awardees among their alumni.
During a special program in Bhubaneswar, Samanta congratulated the athletes, stating, “Your hard work and dedication have brought you to this prestigious stage.” The athletes joined the celebration virtually from their training camps.
