WWE NXT Roadblock 2024 was the third annual NXT Roadblock special episode of NXT, and the fifth Roadblock event overall. The event took place on March 5, 2024, at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida and aired live on the USA Network. The event featured six matches, with the main event being a No. 1 Contender’s Match for the NXT Championship between Tony D’Angelo and Carmelo Hayes. Here are the winners, grades, reactions and highlights from the event:

  • Tony D’Angelo def. Carmelo Hayes to become the No. 1 Contender for the NXT Championship. Grade: A. Reaction: This was a thrilling match that showcased the best of both competitors. D’Angelo and Hayes traded near-falls and big moves, with D’Angelo hitting a superplex and Hayes hitting a 450 splash. The finish saw D’Angelo counter Hayes’ springboard cutter into a DDT for the win. D’Angelo celebrated his victory and stared down the NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov, who was watching from ringside. Highlight: D’Angelo’s DDT.

  • Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin © def. Chase U (Andre Chase and Duke Hudson) to retain the NXT Tag Team Championships. Grade: B. Reaction: This was a solid tag team match that saw the champions dominate most of the action. Breakker and Corbin used their power and teamwork to overpower Chase and Hudson, who tried to use their speed and cunning to gain an advantage. The end came when Breakker hit a spinebuster on Hudson and Corbin followed up with a End of Days for the pin. Highlight:
  • Lyra Valkyria and Tatum Paxley def. The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) © to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Grade: A-. Reaction: This was a surprising upset that saw the NXT Women’s Champion and her partner dethrone the longest-reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Valkyria and Paxley worked well together, despite their odd-couple dynamic, and managed to withstand the onslaught of Asuka and Sane, who used their experience and chemistry to control the match. The turning point came when Valkyria hit a Valkyrie’s Flight on Sane, and Paxley followed up with a Paxley Driver on Asuka for the win.
  • Joe Gacy def. Dijak in an Asylum Match. Grade: C+. Reaction: This was a brutal match that saw both men use various weapons and objects to inflict pain on each other. The Asylum Match was a steel cage match with weapons hanging from the top of the cage, such as a nightstick, a straitjacket, a barbed wire bat, and a chainsaw. Gacy and Dijak used all of them to their advantage, with Gacy cutting Dijak’s forehead with the chainsaw and Dijak choking Gacy with the straitjacket. The finish saw Gacy hit a Gacy Bomb on Dijak through a table covered in thumbtacks for the win.
  • Sol Ruca def. Nathan Frazer. Grade: B-. Reaction: This was a return match for Sol Ruca, who had been out of action for several months due to injury. Ruca showed no signs of ring rust, as he matched Frazer’s speed and agility with his own. Frazer put up a good fight, but Ruca proved to be too much for him. Ruca hit a Solstice on Frazer for the win. Highlight: [Ruca’s Solstice].
  • Axiom def. Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo. Grade: C. Reaction: This was a short match that saw Axiom dominate Lorenzo, who had been on a losing streak since losing the NXT Tag Team Titles with Tony D’Angelo. Axiom hit a Axion Bomb on Lorenzo for the win. Highlight: [Axiom’s Axion Bomb].
