GHAZIABAD, July 17, 2024 — The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government continues its mission to combat corruption while actively rewarding and promoting integrity within the workforce. This week, a city electric bus driver and conductor from Ghaziabad were honored for their honesty after returning a lost purse containing cash and valuables, setting a commendable example for their peers.
Yogi Government Honoring Integrity
On Wednesday, an unidentified female passenger accidentally left her purse on bus number UP 14 KT 6554, operated by Ghaziabad City Trans Limited’s Bahrampur depot on the Loni route. The bus conductor, Satendra (ID 231), and driver, Asif, discovered the purse, which contained Rs 6,000 in cash along with other essential items. Displaying exemplary honesty, they brought the purse to the Bahrampur bus depot and deposited it there. After confirming the rightful owner’s identity, the purse was returned to her relatives.
This act of integrity did not go unnoticed. To inspire other employees within the department, a certificate of appreciation has been awarded to both Satendra and Asif. The depot’s operations manager, Jyoti Saxena, emphasized that regular counseling sessions are conducted from the command center to instill a strong ethical work culture among employees. This incident serves as a testament to the success of these initiatives.
Promoting Ethical Practices: Regular Monitoring and Counseling
The Ghaziabad City Trans Limited has been proactive in promoting ethical practices among its employees through continuous monitoring and counseling sessions. These efforts aim to cultivate a transparent and loyal work environment, where incidents like this become the norm rather than exceptions.
Jyoti Saxena stated, “Through regular monitoring and motivational counseling, we aim to foster an environment of loyalty and honesty. The commendable act by Satendra and Asif is a shining example of these values in action. By awarding them a certificate of appreciation, we hope to inspire all employees to emulate their integrity.”
Implications
This initiative is part of the broader strategy by the Yogi government to combat corruption and promote ethical conduct across various departments. The recognition of honest employees serves not only as a reward for the individuals but also as a powerful message to all government employees about the importance of integrity.
As part of this ongoing effort, the government has emphasized the need for regular monitoring and ethical counseling to ensure that all employees adhere to high standards of honesty and transparency in their work. The recognition of the bus driver and conductor is a step towards reinforcing these values within the workforce.
The commendable actions of the Ghaziabad bus driver and conductor highlight the positive impact of the Yogi government’s policies on promoting integrity and ethical behavior among employees. By recognizing and rewarding such acts of honesty, the government sets a powerful example for others to follow, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability in the public sector. This approach not only strengthens the trust between the government and the public but also enhances the overall efficiency and effectiveness of public services.
