New Delhi [India], July 27, 2024 – The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, along with CBSE, has launched Youth Ideathon 2024. This competition aims to foster creativity and entrepreneurship in school students from Classes 4 to 12.
Youth Ideathon 2024 Details:
- Event: Youth Ideathon 2024, an entrepreneurship competition.
- Participants: Open to students from Classes 4-12 across India.
- Finale Date: October 6, 2024.
- Format: Initial stages online, culminating in a grand finale.
- Objective: Encourage innovation and entrepreneurial skills.
Youth Ideathon 2024 Purpose and Structure
Youth Ideathon 2024 is part of the New Education Policy 2020 to develop entrepreneurial skills in students. Dr. Biswajit Saha, Director at CBSE, highlighted its role in promoting bold and innovative thinking among students.
Participation
Teams of 3-5 students from the same school can compete in junior (Classes 4-8) and senior (Classes 9-12) categories. The competition involves five stages, starting online.
Theme
The theme, “iStartup a Good Thing for India,” targets over 2 lakh students from 10,000 schools, surpassing last year’s 1.5 lakh participants from 8,000 schools.
Support and Opportunities
Industry partners like Esri India, MediaTek, and SheAtWork support Youth Ideathon 2024. Participants will receive certificates, with top teams vying for incubation grants up to ₹100,000. Special awards will be given to teachers, mentors, and schools with high participation rates.
Youth helps nurture young entrepreneurial talent. Mamta Kumari from SIDBI emphasized its role in providing hands-on experience. Shivani Singh-Kapoor from ThinkStartup stressed the importance of early support for innovation.
